About the Artist

" When you want something all the universe conspires in helping you achieve it."
- The Alchemist, Paulo Coelho

Introduction

Anica Lin is an east afro-asian fusion designer. She is currently based in Mbabane, Swaziland where she hopes to create innovative and unique jewellery productes and print designs.

Born and raised in Swaziland whilst racially Taiwanese, the interplay between culture and identity has always been a focus in her life and especially in her designs.

Having lived in several different countries, her work is heavily influenced by her nomadic lifestyle. The meaning of 'culture' and 'people' have always been a continuing dialogue in her designs. She is fascinated by the process behind creating designs that bridge the gap between societies, people and their stories.

Textile & Jewellery Designs

A brief description of our products.

Textile design is in itself a very broad spectrum. Anica Lin focuses on fusing East Asian and African aesthetics and translating these into textiles.

Jewellery Design

Her inspiration begins with an overarching concept and is a combination of an array of objects, landscapes, people and ideas she experiences. She is constantly developing and running through new ideas. What is envisioned on the most part, is always growing and gradually becomes a creation of its own after it undergoes the entire process. Throughout the journey the design/print begins to develop a sense of its own character and life.

Aesthetic value takes first preference in all her textile and jewellery creations. As her work begins to grow and mature it always maintains a very high standard of quality.

A note from the artist

Fabric is a very intimate object. It sits quietly against our bare-skin, always present, as if it were our second skin. We should always give it our highest priority.
